When used to protect a business for example, someone sat at their desk can access via secure "log on" to the ‘ Waveney 4 ’ and see live or recorded images played back on their own computer screen whilst the unit is safely locked away out of sight and from mischievous hands. Perfect for unattended hassle free recording and live monitoring of communal areas such as your reception area, from any networked PC.

Using an internet connection it is easy to connect to the Waveney 4 from anywhere in the world and observe live or recorded video images on any standard computer!

Obviously you can also connect a standard CCTV monitor to the Waveney 4 for a traditional, stand-alone digital recording system and use the remote monitoring facility at any time in the future without having to upgrade.

Acting as a DVR, up to four CCTV cameras can be connected to the Waveney 4 which simultaneously records images from all of them, storing these recordings

Digitally on to its internal hard-drive(s), they can even be digitally broadcast across a secure internet connection and recorded to a remote computer, anywhere in the world.
The stored video can then be played back by camera number, time and date or by alarm activation within seconds, with no messy tapes to rewind or change.

The Waveney 4 has four recording modes

• Constant - 24hr/7 days a week
• Scheduled - e.g. 08:30 - 17:30 for a shop
• Alarm activated - Triggered by an alarm situation e.g. PIR, smoke alarm etc
• Video motion detection - movement in the camera zone

For total flexibility it is even possible to use a mixture of the above. For example, a shop may record 8:30 - 17:30 Monday to Saturday by a scheduled recording setting and also record if the burglar alarm/fire alarm goes off (the recording will be saved, in the latter, by remote recording off the premises) outside those times using the alarm activation mode.

Or, the same shop may record three cameras continuously and record the fourth, located in the stock-room, when this particular camera picks up movement using the built in video motion detection circuitry. This kind of flexibility gives the installer and the customer a truly bespoke CCTV installation.

As well as recording video, the Waveney 4 can also record audio. a carefully positioned microphone over a till or in a reception area could prove vital in "who said what" when who did what is not enough.

As the Waveney 4 is easy to network, it is easy to download critical information from it to a networked computer, either once recorded or in "real-time". The video data can then be burned to CD or DVD using the computers CD or DVD writer or even connected directly from the Waveney 4's USB connector to an external hard drive, the sky's the limit!

The video files produced by the DVR are a modified mpeg compression and are specially encrypted so that normal mpeg software cannot read or access them. We provide the software player with the Waveney 4 , this allows you or a law court to play back the recorded files from the CD or DVD.

It is also possible to simply play back recorded video and audio from the Waveney 4 into a standard VCR and copy the evidence to a traditional VHS tape.
